RyLee is a 27 year old, plus-sized outspoken Queen born and raised in Washington, D.C. She graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Media from Elizabeth City State University and an M.A. in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Trinity Washington University and worked in the marketing and media relations field in the corporate and entrepreneurial industry. After suffering for 3 years, at the age of 15, she was diagnosed with Endometriosis, a chronic illness that causes you debilitating pain on a constant basis through misplaced lining in the uterus.

As she became an advocate for Endometriosis, even after the diagnosis, she never allowed it to take over her mind, body and spirit (though there were some hard days.) Despite her success, RyLee realized that she needed to share her journey, not just with this disorder but in all aspects of her life, in hopes that her struggles would help the next black woman like her know that she is seen. This blog has been created so that other women like herself, would have a chance to truly be able to share their experiences and to build a sisterhood where no one feels alone.
